Our children have suffered greatly during the Covid pandemic due to social isolation and remote learning. When schools reopened, social emotional learning became a primary focus because students desperately needed self-awareness, self-control, and interpersonal skills. Social emotional learning lessons are not only vital for school but also for work, and life success. Teachers and counselors help students identify their feelings and understand and communicate with others. They guide students to make good empathetic decisions and build relationships.  Every social situation varies and there is not a manual or “correct way” to handle any of them. Hyperion develops core competencies as he navigates family life, house bots and a mischievous cat. Learn more about character education or “Hyperion’s Superpowers” in this 6-part series that follows.
